Is...it St. Patrick's day? *looks around*

Hey, someone that knows technology better than me, I have a question.
I have WinRAR and it is amazing. But when I make a zipfile of any sort does it automatically become a .rar file or does it just LOOK like one because thats what WinRAR does to all my zipped files?

If you're using winrar, and tell it to compress, it will make it a .rar, unless you specify you want a .zip. a good way to tell is to set your folders to let you view all file extensions, and just...look. if it's .zip, it's. uhm, a zip file. if it's .rar, it's a rar file. :D

I think it just looks lik .rar because you have WinRAR set as the default program for unzipping files? So like the icon will look like the winrar icon and not the zip icon but you can still open it with winzip if you wanted to.

Depends on what you set it as. There's an option to make it a .rar (which is the default), and one to make it a .zip. They all have the same icon though.

when you're saving it, you can select if it's a zip or a rar. :)
