Hey, y'know whats not cool?

Warning, Dani is about to rant and is too lazy to put it under a cut(unless it gets really long)

So, I was reading Spin, an article about "The Emo Voice" or some shit like that. And after they admitted that no, Patruck Stump didn't have the "Emo" voice anymore(I'm sorry, the boy has a range like a motherfucker, fuck a emo voice), I calmed down and could read and comprehend the article. Then I bopped around Spin for a minute, then looked up what they had to say about Coheed and Cambria because they're my new "band that makes me make slutty noises off of their music" I'm weird, I know, anyone that bothers to read this journal knows that. And, oh look, there's that word again. Emo.

Ok, so, speaking just to Bandom, we throw the word around, and its whatever, because we get that these guys arent all the same mass produced sound etc. etc.

SO, I'm doing a little research as we speak. 

Emo, as a genre which it is, emocore, originated in the 80's k? And life was good. And it was a genre. A genre. Then we have from '94 to present. It was good. Emo was a genre that described a particular style of music. Then somebody fucked up 2000ish and now its on everyband that has a fucking guitar player. 

Scurry children. Listen to a Fall Out Boy song. Now listen to an MCR song. Now an AFI. Now P!ATD, TAI, AAR etc etc. Now Coheed and Cambria. You see similarities, yea? After all they're rock bands(yes, even Panic!). But do you listen to one and think its the other? In more than oh...every instance? Did you confuse  Coheed for FOB? 
Anybody get my point yet?
Now find everybody that has any of these bands on their iPod, CD player, whatever. Do they all look alike? Sound alike?
No?
Almost every "emo" band out there. I have at least one of their songs. Some I have whole albums. THEY ARE DIFFERENT BANDS. THEY DO NOT ALL SOUND ALIKE. DASHBOARD CONFESSIONAL AND QUEEN BOTH HAVE GUITARS. Guess what? THEY ARE NOT THE SAME BAND. EMO =/= ROCK MUSIC. Shut the fuck up, pompous journalist who are too damn lazy to think of a proper fucking adjective for "music that is popular among youth that contains guitars"

Oh, and one more thing. Emo is short for emocore which is short for EMOTIONAL HARDCORE. not fucking weepy. I'm pretty sure Bob Bryar could kick your ass and not shed a tear, cause he could certainly kick mine. 

/Barely rational railing against stupid labels. 

p.s. I like my fucking eyeliner, motherfuckers, even if I havent worn any in the last month. And YES those are MCR lyrics bleeding into the first line of The fucking Wasteland on my BLACK Converse. why dont you just set up the pyre now. 

I guess its long enough for a cut....
